Default best 87 octane coyote tune

Ive read alot of post and MOST point to 5 star, also MOST threads on tunes are about the most power. I am interested in the best transmission and MPG tune, not whose tune runs the fastest. I have a 2014 supercab 5.0 4wd with 3.73s.

I have MPT on my ecoboost which i think is great but in my opinion i would think that the 3.5 n 5.0 are completely different in how they can be tuned

I just recently got into the whole world of custom tuning but I bounced back and forth between 5 star and MPT for my 5.4. I didn't really read much discrepancies between either of the two companies but a lot of things I read said the 5 star is proven to bring more power out of the 5.4 than MPT. Don't quote me on that because I don't know if it's true. I mainly went with 5 star because they did a two tune deal for like 100 bucks or something so I jumped on that. I'm gonna try MPT the next time they run a good deal.

I know the 5.4 can't really compare to the beast of the 5.0 just thought I'd share my 2 cents. Plenty of people here have tuned the 5.0 and will chime in before too long.

Guys running the SSi tune for the 5.0 seem to love it.

Default SSi FTW

Big Fan here I have a Gen2 tune and they are up to Gen 4 now. You won't find better driveability and power for your motor anywhere else. I have had Diablo, Hypertech, Edge and now The SCT. Christmas special, 2 tunes for $100. you will need a tuner obviously if you don't have one. SCT supposedly has more configuration ability for the Ford than any other platform. Excellent customer service and quick delivery. Lightening shift, smooth shifting and you can have him dial in your driving style, i.e. a super hot pedal or a DD feel with power under the pedal.

Ssi increased my mpg the most of the several tuners I've used and has smoothest shifts. 5 star is second place on both categories op asked about.

I will throw in my two cents.
I just recently purchased a used 2011 F150 FX4 5.0 supercrew. I bought it at a dealership (not Ford but Lexus) The person traded it in and it has 80k kilometers (50k miles) on it. It is a very nice truck but had some mods on it, headlights, taillights and cold air (afe) as well as a loud flowmaster aftercat system. I ordered a ITSX sct tuner from Mike at 5 star and ordered it with 3 custom tunes. I got the 87 performance tow tune as well as the 91 and a 87 economy tune. I did not know it when I bought the truck but it had a tune on it already. I assume it had an economy tune on it as I could easily get 22 mpg running at 110 kph with 3.73 gears. I then sent it back to stock using the stc tuner. the truck acted different and had more power. I then added the 87 performance tow tune and man what a difference! On the highway I am getting 21.7 mpg and the difference in the truck is amazing! It shifts so much better and there is no low speed shutter when in first gear! I still need to put some miles on it to get the pcm to adjust but I have to say I am very impressed!

I ran a 5 star 87 tune on my 13 and it was great. Awesome power for an 87 tune and decent mileage.

SSi1 Gen6 87 tune is awesome all around! I have never had the other 2 mentioned, but am too pleased to try them. I usually average with mixed driving short distance, hills between 18-19 and i I took a trip to Atalanta on I 75 and got about 21.7 going down and about 20.8 coming back in cold rainy weather and some wind about a month ago. Driving habits and type tune will make differences. Mine is a performance tune, and it definitely delivers that.
