I have a Valentine One also. I'm using the Savey adapter plugged into the OBD port. No issues yet except for the health report not working properly. I've had the truck for 3 months. Service always seems to try and blame problems on something that they don't understand. If I had a nickle everytime Iv've heard: "never heard of that happening before"....

Passport 8500, $300, great detector. I use the plug because I use it in the wife's truck. No power issues.

VALENTINE 1. The only detector that ANYONE should buy. The passport 9500 with GPS is so horrible... My parents have one in each of their AMG's and they are switching back to a Valentine. Front and rear facing detection. Used invisicord off ebay to tap into powered mirror. 12.95 delivered.

There is the right way, and then there is the way that works, but not as well... your call.

Valentine is so outdated it's ridiculous... Escort wins in nearly every aspect. Not to mention, the V1's have TONS of false alerts.

To the OP, if it's plugged into a cigarette lighter port, those always have power to them, so it could be draining your battery. I charge my phone sometimes when not in the truck.

Interesting. I would not call it outdated. I've had my same V1 for almost 10 years. I've sent it in to be upgraded twice. I've learned what is false and what isn't. Id rather it be sensitive than not at all. I use the Blend Mount adapter under my mirror and hard wire it to the mirror, so it turns off when the truck does.

LOL the V1 arguments are funny. I have been running Beltronics RX65 for over 8 years with 0 problems. I also use a keyed sources and have never experienced battery drain problems. Has saved my butt many a time and only tickets I ever got with it I had the volume and brightness turned way down so I couldn't see it/hear it (and usually stereo cranked and windows down.......just a lot of bad choices )

It's incredibly outdated. No GPS? Like really? It's 2013, it's time for a hardware update. The useless arrows aren't selling it for everyone anymore. I'll take my 9500ix any day of the week. Just look up some of the false alert tests...
