Default Anyone have problems yet with 5.0 or Ecoboost

I am wondering what problems are out there. Actual fixed problems not things like the speculated transmission problems. I am wondering what things are being identified on the 2011 models.

The smoke thing i think was decided to be remote start using extra fuel to warm up oil faster so the turbos dont get messed.

I have an 11 xlt with 5.0. I did have a problem. I don't know if it was there when we bought it, or if it showed up later, but I did not notice it until after 1000 miles or so. I have a thread about it somewhere here, but don't think its in the 11 engines section.

It was a momentary engine tick that only showed up after a restart at normal operating temperature (never on a cold start). And it would only tick half a dozen times or so then go away.

Turned out to be a defective timing chain tensioner. Fixed under warranty-dealership did an EXCELLENT job (am I am very nitpicky about putting things back exactly how it came apart-down to every little wiring harness retainer, hose retainer, plastic fasteners, etc).

Have not had issue since. Over 6K on it now.

I searched all over the web when I had the problem before they knew what it was, but I couldn't find anything. I think my issue was a fluke-not common since I could not locate even ONE person with the same issue, but didn't they have tensioner problems on some of the older mod motors???

there is a TSB for that. You should take it to the dealer and have it checked out.
