I have 3.73 gears max tow.

These are very consistent numbers for me and I have 6500 total miles with 3400 miles towing.

I never get the super high mpg's that I often see others report. Maybe it's just me or the TX roads/gas. I can live with these numbers and I love how solid the motor sounds & feels.
I'm driving. 5.4 now and I don't get very good milage.. I'm looking to trade up to a '13 6.2. Thanks

No issues with my 6.2 either. Averaging only 15 MPG but that is with a LOT of remote start idling this summer (we have 2 infants we like to keep cool). Took a 1000 mile road trip last month and averaged 17 MPG with cruise set to 80 MPH. (I have 2WD and 3.73 rear end for anyone curious).

Just got to the beach and averaged 18.1 and this was with some 80+ stretches. Mixed mileage usually runs around 14.5 to 15 the highest I've even seen was just over 19 on a short trip but this was keeping it close to the 65 speed limit. I can tow my bass boat (around) 4k lbs and get in the 13 to 14 range. I would think a 2wd could break 20 driven easy on a trip. By no means is this great but not bad for a 6.2 v8. This gets better than my Chevy 6.2 vortec max that I traded for this one.

That's awesome I can live with that!

He means that from the factory they have built in measures such as torque reduction and not allowing full throttle until around 4k or so. Call mike at 5 star or go to their website it will tell you more. There is a major difference in feel and drivability of the truck after a good tune such as 5 stars.

Oh Ok, gotcha. Thanks for the reply!

I don't currently have a 6.2, I'm just doing some research and boning up on others experiences with this engine.

I will check out the 5 Star site.

You are correct! Much better throttle response!

Here in Arizona on the flats running 65-70 mph I am getting 18.5 easily. In our little town of 45,000 not a lot of stop and go I average around 14.5 to 16. If I put my foot in it I am sure it would drop some. If you read my post of today on my first big tow pulling my 10,000 lb plus toy hauler I got 8.4 miles per gallon on the 400 mile round trip up and back from high country. It is puller for sure!
