Well here is an update, I've spoke with Ford and my dealer, and we have come to an agreement, I'm not going into numbers detail, but I now feel I am getting a fair price for the repair. My dealer has bent over backwards for me and doing more than there fair share of discounts and Ford stepped up to the plate also. Its NOT going to be free by anymeans, but its a hell of a lot better than the original quoted price.

I don't think he had the noise though... I know when my truck got the new chain it did restore some power and fuel economy began to improve again but then as the noise persisted it seemed to get worse again. Anecdotal? I don't know now... My new truck is awesome.

Mine was discounted to warranty rate and then Ford offered to pay half of what remained.

My 2012 super crew showed high sodium (45) and 3.5% fuel in oil at 50,000. Shades of my Powerstrokes.

Dealer checked and my VIN isn't included. Only thing I can think of is build date but this later fix seems to be a lot of newer parts.
