Another Ecoboost MPG thread
Hi i have ecoboost FX2 with 3.55 rear end and usualy drive empty. Everyone complaining about mpg not being up to par. here is my numbers since i bought it have about 5400 miles now
55-60 mph average 27-30mpg
60-65 24-27mpg
65-70 21-23mpg
70-75 19.5-21mpg depending on how many hills im going over
many fill ups now and never got below 19mpg average for whole tank and im about 500+ miles on 26gallons
but i only get below 19mpg when driving city and lots of stopping and going not sure why yalls mpg sucks so bad try using cruise control more even in 30-45mph zones will help a ton
ps drove 170 miles to austin this weekend one wa and got 21.5 mpg at 70mph whole trip

I shouldn't encourage another EcoBoost mileage thread but I can't help myself.
I think the differences in mileage you are experiencing versus many of us other EcoBoost owners may include:
1) FX2 - driving a 2WD, not a 4WD
2) empty bed
3) Sounds like Texas to me - no topography (except maybe the Guadalupe Mountains)
Did I mention 2WD? No hills?

Yep in houston alot of overpass's nothing really big but when i drove to austin there are some pretty big hills that are prolly 1-2 miles to go over. Just sharing my info ) and id like to see peoples specs on tundra, hemi, chevy 5.3 in the big hills like you are saying.. people here in houston get like 15.5 in a 5.3 that i work with.

I'm with OP. Most of my driving is in town and my average for the 2200 mike life of my truck is around 17-18. Which is great compared to my old 5.4 which was 10-11. Never seen over 25, but I love this truck and am very impressed with the mileage in a 6000# vehicle!

I'm losing faith. My mpg has recently gone way down. I used to avg. 20 combined. Now I struggle for 18 hwy. Heck I even got better than 18 towing a pop up his summer. Don't know whats going on but the issues are starting to pile up. Lost faith in my dealer too...had my oil changed...supposedly. went to start truck next day and made a funny noise which prompted me to check the oil...black and still had factory filter. They put sticker in my window as if they changed but never did. Not happy.
