Is this device (the ELM327 Bluetooth adapter) compatible with an iPad as well as a droid?

Ya, you will need a Wifi obdii adaptor. Generally run about $100.

Try cellphoneshop.net
If you can wait a couple weeks ;-)
Otherwise, try Best Buy, Future Shop or any of another hundred or so electronic stores. If no one has them in store you can usually order online from them as well.

You guys should all upgrade to Androids. Apple keeps such tight control on their devices the apps can never do as much. I love my new Samsung Galaxy S3. Plus its great having the extra real estate on the screen. They are so far superior to iphones right now it's not even funny.

Thanks for answering my question. I think I will get this and let you guys know.

This adaptor and software can be moved to other vehicles with easy right?

One more question, can you take a picture of the Bluetooth adaptor plugged into your truck? I ask because the one you linked looks big and I do not want to be hitting it with my leg.

Yes but it must be a WiFi adapter.......... iPhone will not work via bluetooth.......... hence the reason for having to go Android.

Best Buy in the GPS/Mobile Audio section.

Yes very easily moved between other vehicles............ The Torque program lets you set up profiles for different vehicles too so as soon as you plug the unit in it recognizes which car you are in... very cool.

The adapter is not all that big........ Ive had mine plugged in ever since i got it and never have hit it with my leg......... Ill get a pic of it installed later.

Being 6-4...I don't come close to my adaptor. Leave it in all the time. You're not gonna hurt it. Also, it travels to any vehicle with an OBDII port. CEL on another car, swap it out and check.
