Will the install be the same since the 5.3L ecotec is completely new? The ONLY thing the previous 5.3 and it share is displacement .

Not to add confusion, but I live in Upstate NY (can reach out and touch Canada) where it gets below 0°F many times (especially this past winter) and I did not have fuel in my oil after I switched to Mobil 1 0w-30 syn oil. Back in January when I hit 3,000 miles I changed my oil and the Motorcraft oil coming out did smell like gas somewhat. I'm about to hit 7,000 mile now and I've checked the oil many times and it smells like oil....definitely NOT like gas anymore.
The difference now is the 5.3 and 6.2 used to evacuate from the rear of the drivers side valve cover, and bow they evacuate through the valley similar to the 2013 and earlier LS3/LS6 engines. The new DI engines pull in the fresh air from each valve cover where it is drawn past the valvetrain on each side and evacuates the foul vapors from the valley cover. The new GM DI v8's have an integrated checkvalve into the valley so a can installs inline from the valley to the intake manifold vacuum barb that protrudes from the drivers side of the intake mainfold.

What's the take on warranty being voided with this catch can setup...I'm ready to order one but if Ford isn't going to honour my power train warranty for the next 4 years I'm out.
Doesn't make sense to me that this will protect the engine and increase longevity, but at the cost of warranty.

If you discover that you punch the peddle to the metal and it goes over to the side of the road for a restart to settle the system down and reset you decide what you want/need to do.

To date with over 14,500 systems in use on every make/model you can imagine and never a warranty voided...but the individual dealers make the call. By law, the Magnason/Moss act makes doing so illegal also, so you have good ground to stand on if one tries.

So? @ tuner boost your saying Magnusson act will protect people with a catch can? That is seriously false information you are adding a extension to the existing system that could add further complications and make the system act differently than it was intended to act. Plus your drilling a hole into your vehicle!! If a mod is totally reversible than it won't effect your warranty if you take off the part before you get your vehicle serviced for warranty claims...period.Any modification can void your warranty if the modification can be related to the part the warranty claim is being made for, as the dealership can claim that part did the damage. So unless the catch can maker is willing to shell out legal fees then NO your warranty is not safe.

Most dealerships use Catch Cans in their sponsored stock cars so they are familiar with their benefits. Those motors are under full throttle much of the lap in a race. LOL

What is your point? You think the dealership is going to treat your truck like one of their SPONSORED vehicles?? Do you understand what sponsored means? If something breaks they fix it, I'm not saying a catch can is not a good thing but to claim that it won't void your warranty is a completely irresponsible thing to say because it will VOID your warranty if the catch can: can be traced back to the warranty claim. I just want people to know what they are getting into, hell an intake can void your warranty, this can too. Plus drilling a hole in your intake is just crazy and completely irreversible, which leaves you screwed if you have that roadside break down.
