Question aFe Stage 2 CAI Question

Hi, just a quick question. I just installed my aFe Stage 2 CAI. I've read all the posts about the intake making a sucking sound.
When I let off the gas it makes a whooshing sound too. I just want to make sure this is normal before any damage could occur. I'm always worried when I install stuff especially when it's on a brand new truck. All the fittings are tight and snug I just want to make sure there isn't any problems with the filters. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. TIA

The sound you're hearing when you let off is likely the recirculation valves dumping boost back into the intake tubes. The factory box doesn't really let you hear it. I'd say normal.

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure nor was I expecting it to make that sound. I am quite happy with it! It feels a little peppier too IMO.

Saw a guy that put duck calls on his whooshing sounder. It is a blast video. LOL

I am more than happy with the intake, I think it goes really well with a tune and exhaust. Once I put the exhaust on I could hear the intake even a little more so over all I am very impressed with the set up. Click the aFe link in my signature and send Bruce a PM. He will take care of all your needs.

Take out those twirly sound deadening things inside the intake tubes and your AFE will be even louder, That's what I did and it sounds awesome. They are only there to reduce the intake noise nothing more. The people that think they are there for a reason simply more than that are the same people who bought the Tornado and saw a 10 mpg difference.

Oh and I love my AFE stage 2 also. All the intakes for these trucks are going to do the same thing if anything so why not get the one that drops jaws when you open the hood of your truck.
