Will some one that has a stage 1 afe intake post a pic of the side by side intake inlets tubing that leads to the air box to see the size difference in the 2 pieces. Or can you take a tape measure or calipers and measure the difference in the internal diameters of the two intake inlets.

I'm tell you, if it doesn't require a tune then it's the same MAF housing size as stock. You need to custom build an intake with MAF housing or use a mustang housing.
