Default Tuner for 2012 EcoBoost

Well it looks like I will be keeping my ecoboost longer than I had originally thought. So Id like to tap into the mod world on this thing and see where she goes power/mpg wise.

Whats the best tuner out there for these trucks? Best CAI? Exhaust?

Ive already modified a JLT oil catch can off of my old '13 5.0 stang to fit my ecoboost and its done its job. Now Im ready for some more get up and go. I have heard where guys have gained a few mpg by adding a programmer, CAI and exhaust. I can see that as a realistic list of mods for my truck as Ill be adding a little bit taller tire and a grill guard.

TIA

This is going to be good. MPT, SSI, LMS, unleashed, 5star....prolly a few more in there. I've run LMS, Unleashed and an ancient iteration of an SSI tune. LMS was great for over a year but the v10 didn't suit my daily driving. unleashed fits me for the moment until LMS has their latest release.

Ssi T5 is worth a shot if you have the sct device.

If you go with Livernois you will have to use there device and subject to only their tunes.

At least get sct device so you can try different tuners and decide which tune works for you. Other options besides Ssi are 5 * , unleashed, and mpt.

I seen big gains with aftermarket downpipe and Afe charge pipe.

Not so much with cai and cat back.

Whatever you do go with the sct handheld tuner, don't cheat yourself. That's going to be the best bang for your buck. And definitely get a custom tune @ 93 octane you'll notice a big difference.

What he said. I run a 5 Star, but like knowing that I could change to something else if I wanted to.

35's and a level or a lift needs to happen first IMO..Then a tuner, intake, downpipes, intercooler, methanol injection kit, and some tint

I run LMS 91v10 and I love it. And I have an airaid intake. Ill be installing my ADD Venom front bumper on Friday.

How much power do you want?

First mods:
Downpipe, CAC, tune

Thereafter:
Meth

CAI and exhaust are not going to give you anything. Save the money from them and get the best CAC you can afford. Once a CAC becomes heat-soaked, power will be down significantly.

As for the Tuner: I run an SSI tune. If you want the fastest, go with them. I have heard that it is hard to beat the (I believe) 5star Tow tune. For the love of all things good... start with the SCT tuner as the options are plentiful. Franchi Motorsports is a Mod on this forum and sells the devices at a reasonable cost and ships very quickly.

I did an Airaid Intake, Magnaflow exhaust and Livernois Tuner. I did each upgrade seperately, didn't see too much difference with intake and exhaust, but the LMS tuner made a big difference... So definetely go with a good programmer, will see the biggest difference from one of these... Have fun!
