I've never seen 17mpg on the interstate in my truck. And it's flat as a pancake where I live. What's your secret?

The best I have ever got was 19.77 mpg with 91 octane with no ethanol in the fuel. That is doing 60mph max.

I tried to find a used Excursion diesel.

Uses 2005's with 100,000 miles in my area were fetching mid 25's !

Ford should bring them back.

If so, which of these posts is more likely to get Ford moving on better mileage for trucks?

This one:

Or this one:

Just asking, because in this world, the whiners and complainers seem to get their way.
Mt Platinum EB gets 19-21 mpg, can do the 1/4 mile in the mid 14's, and weighs what, 6000 pounds?

That's better performance than my '67 GTO, and it even handles better LOL

Thanks, my dash and calculated can be up to 1.5mpg different. What's your axle ratio?

My 2 cents, its a 400hp plus, 6000 pound truck that rides as smooth as my wife's Escalade. It gets 17 to 18 mpg on the highway using epa mandated crap gas for the St Louis area, I can't complain.

Lol I really dont have a secret I just get it up to speed and turn on the cruise control. when I drive for economy, I just baby it and try not to rev it up. I got a tuner for it also and on the 93 Octane tune the truck works even less!

Cruise control's first priority is to maintain your speed not desired mileage. Normally I let off a bit going up a hill or might even try and gain some momentum going down hill first.

I found a 2mpg difference when pulling a trailer and using cruise versus my foot!
