Default 6.2

Is the 6.2 engine better than the 5.4 engine in all ways? Towing, power, gas, etc.

Towing and power, absolutely; not sure about gas. Buddy of mine has a 6.2L and he gets something like 15 or 15.5 MPG mixed driving.

5.4 would probably get a little better mileage - it is a smaller engine after all.

hp/tq, no comparison.

I was thinking the 5.4 had more low end power for towing. I know the late model fords did have a lot of low end rpm but they were not the fastest.

310hp and 365tq for the 5.4 on 87 octane.

411 hp & 434 tq for the 6.2 on 87 octane.

I just googled and these numbers came up. Not sure if they are 100% correct.

The 6.2 numbers are on 91 IIRC.

Ford reps said the 6.2 produces 401/434 on 87.

The 6.2 outperforms the 5.4 everywhere.
