Default 50 series flowmaster with factory res. on 5.0

Would this set-up be quiet in the cab? I do tow quite often and would like it to be somewhat drone free. I was also looking at the heartthrob 4" system

as far as ive read flow master makes alota drone since it's chambered vs a free flowing system (borla/ magnaflow/ any straight thru des. including stock)

I have the FM 44 and it drones a LOT in the cab, but it's also mounted under the cab with the outlet extending just two inches behind the cab. I want to get that moved back...

Id go with a magnaflow 18inch if I were you and keep the factory resonater . It will sound nice with hardly any drone inside once you get in high gear.

If you were looking at a 50 Series, we recommend the Super 50 for your 13 F-150 5.0. The Super 50 features an internal resonance chamber which is designed specifically for reducing interior resonance, or "drone".

Another option would be the 70 Series mufflers, which also feature an internal resonance chamber. The 70 Series is essentially the Super 50's big brother and is less aggressive both inside and outside the vehicle. We typically recommend this one for tow vehicles. Or, if you'd like, give us a call at 707-544-4761 and we can help you figure out the best exhaust for you and your truck.

The level of interior resonance will depend on a lot of factors including but not limited to muffler choice and specific vehicle. Flowmaster offers 15 different styles of street mufflers, including several three-chamber designs which feature an internal resonance chamber specifically made to reduce interior resonance.

The Super 44 is one of our most aggressive street mufflers. Due to how aggressive this muffler is, it can also increase interior noise levels. We typically recommend that people run at least 12" of tail-pipe after the muffler itself to help smooth out the sound. That's the plan. I love the exterior sound of it, I just hate where the shop decided to mount it.

That shop actually screwed up a lot of crap on my truck. I'm never going back there.
