I run the 87 perf/tow tune from 5 Star and so far I really like it. I also have their 91 perf/tow and 87 econo tune. If gas goes real high again I may switch to the econo tune or in the winter when the roads ice up. I recommend 5 Star.

I don't think it was like I said before, but I will find out for sure Sunday.
Anthony,
I reviewed your tune and it is confirmed that I sent you 93 Performance Street so you are probably correct that it was user error and the wrong tune was loaded. The sluggish description you listed in a previous post is polar opposite of what the tune will feel like.

I would recommend going back to the email, re-downloading, and then loading the calibration to the tuner again. I would also advise you to keep the naming system that we have in place to prevent tune mix ups.

If you need us to, we can remote connect to your computer and help you load the tune on to make sure everything goes as intended. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact us directly.

Thanks Mike for rechecking. I re-downloaded the MPT tune tonight and loaded it into my truck. I do keep my tunes in different files, but I guess I just got mixed up somehow because the tune I loaded tonight did not feel the same as the tune from the other day. I only went out for a quick 30 minute spin. Initially I felt that the 5* 93 feels like it puts more power to the ground while gaining speed with normal throttle, but WOT at higher speeds the MPT tune pulled harder. In normal driving the shifting feels noticeably harder which could be do to the adaptive trans cause the 5* sometimes feels like that at first when I load the tune but goes away after some miles. The shift points feel better in the 5* along with the TC lock up and DBW tuning. I don't have to give the 5* 93 that much throttle in normal driving for it to do what I want it to do where MPT requires a little more throttle in normal driving. The MPT also brought back the 3rd gear sluggish feeling, which is usually cause by shifting too soon and not shifting down soon enough under normal driving. Now, under WOT at high speeds it is a different story, this tune will definitely pull harder getting up into highway speeds although it was not that much off a difference so far but it is noticeable at 60+ sprints. It will give you more of a push you back into your seat feel at 60+mph. I have not done any dead stop aggressive take offs yet, but I am sure it will perform very well. So far initially, the 5* 93 perf/tow is better in normal every day normal driving or towing hands down, but the MPT is the better tune for WOT performance so far. Keep in mind I have not tried 5*s performance only tune which might be in the works soon depending and I will post up some comparisons when I do. I will drive this MPT for a little while ad let you know how it goes.

I have both performance tunes, and the MPT is just stupid faster! I think it has to do with the fact mine is basically a race tune. I told Mike to just have fun with it, and couldn't be happier. I have noticed no more than mid 18's in boost, and it is in boost sooo quick giving me the low-end I crave. Do not get for MPG though, it is in boost way more (which is what I want in a performance tune). My brother who owns almost the same truck has driven mine with both tunes, not to mention SC, and SCT canned tunes, and agrees that it not even close for how it feels. I spent the last 5 days pulling ATV's and I will say that the 5 Star tune would have saved me some $$ when towing.

Clubsfit, is yours faster than the 5* under normal acceleration as well as WOT? Maybe it's because I have street shifting one. Mine does not feel as good as the 5* in normal driving, but is noticeably faster at higher speed WOT. Maybe I should have gotten the race one since this was suppose to be an every now and then fun tune, but I am probably going to get 5* all performance next since it is out now. The MPT performance race version will have to wait unless I like 5*s performance tunes shifting as much as his perf/tow.

Yes, way! That is why I bought the MPT tune. The 5* is way more than stock, but it seems to come on later, and less aggressive than the MPT. Contact Mike at MPT and tell him you want the low end snap, and race tuning. I emailed Mike at 5* for a more aggressive tune, and he seemed reluctant? So I switched, and could not be happier.

@ AL
Take it from another person who has both the MPT and 5 Star Tunes. The MPT Race tune just flat out gets it done. The first time I loaded it I was like Ok... This brings me back to my old diesel days of pumpin over 1k ft lbs of torque out of my duramax..really throws you back in the seat with nice hard shift but not irratating hard just hard enough to know yeah, this truck is deffinitly not stock. Don't get me wrong I still am in love with 5 stars tune. Heck just yesterday I had to re tune to the 5 star 91 perf/tow because we took the boat out to the lake. And even with the boat on I was passing people up the grades in the fast lane and still staying out of the throttle my foot was barely resting on the gas pedal. They are both great tunes and I would reccomend anybody to get both of these if they have the money as I think they are the two best custom tuners out for the ECO at the moment. But they are two completely different animals. For towing and long trips its Mike at 5 star. Everyday messin around and track Mike at MPT. I really need to get a video up because i'm thinking people are thinking i'm bull sh$%*&$# when I say I can get the tires to bark from a 25-30 roll with the MPT tune. You can just tell the MPT race tune wants to take off even from light acceleration. And there is for sure more boost being thrown at the MPT tune but the funny thing is I get better MPG with it then I do the 5 star perf/tow as long as I'm being gentle. Deffinitly not better MPG then 5 stars enonomy though, but I can't stand the loss of power after using all these custom performance tunes so I only use that for long trips with the cruise set

Yeah, please don't think I am not happy with 5star. Awesome tune, and if I did some towing, that would be the one loaded. I also have Innovative Extreme tune, and I will liken that to throwing a switch, it is either all or nothing, and the all doesn't start until after 3000rpms, where my MPT starts around <2000. The barking of tires is gonna prove costly to me because even with my 33's they can break loose at a roll out up to 20+ easy.

@ Clubsfit

Yep your review is what led me to the MPT tune. I mean Everyone on here should be taking peoples advice that have more than one tune to compare to. There's a few poeple on here that have multiple custom tunes and I thank you guys for spendin the extra coin to try them all out and give us all reviews for each one.
