Default 5 Star Packages

Planning on getting some mods done to the truck for Christmas. I've decided on the 5Star tune / Programmer because one of the three tunes I want will be the 87 Economy.

I'm wondering if anyone has gone with the intake, exhaust, tuner packages, or just the tuner and AFE intake. I was thinking about going with this one:

Thoughts on the intake with the tuner making much of a difference?

thanks.

I just drove a 12 eb with the stock air box and a tuner and it was a big improvement over stock. I would get a tune first then go cai and exhuast if you still want more.

just got done ordering myself some christmas goodies!!!!! Sct with 87 per/tow. 91 per (highest octane available within 45mins) and 87 economy.

If anything, i'll be looking forward to some better transmission shifting. This shifting/torque converter lockup crap drives me crazy.

Don't get your hopes up with the economy tunes. I ran one for a couple of tanks and didn't see any increase in mileage. I pretty sure that at highway speeds my mileage was worse with the Econ tune. The truck is gutless as well. You almost have to floor it from stoplights just to keep up with normal traffic. Just thought I would let you know my experience.

Installed the 5* 87 tow/performance tune with no other mods. Truck feels great. Good enough for me. I'm coming from a modded, 2009 CTS-V so it's really a waste of time for me to try and get more speed at the cost of drivability or comfort with this vehicle.

I would like to do this. Is the shifting improved very much. I run mine in tow/haul to get better shift points.

Improved shifting is probably the most noticeable part.

Starting doing this the last little while. Just to help with shifting. The funny thing is it will go awhile perfect and smooth. Then crappy and really lugging
