5 Star Ecoboost Tune Reviews

I have KGCP9C3, I was able to update my SCT and had 5* update my tunes no problem.
Just put on last week while they were trying to fix a rich condition and changed the HPFP, rail and sensors. Still no good.
I cant blame the tune for that, I think its either a carbon issue or timing, but ford says its fine.

Mike at 5 Star sent me the revised 87pt tune to test today, it definitely worked and all I can say is wow! Really woke the truck up and worth the wait, I guess I'm just a little impatient... Now to install my Snow Performance Meth Kit this weekend and it's on like Donkey Kong. I can't wait to see what the 93 perf tune and 100% meth can do!!

I sent mike my request for my tunes to be swapped to LiveWire last night at 2230 and had them in my inbox when I woke up at 0700!! Now that's the customer service I've been hearing about time after time...
I would certainly recommend to look no further if you want great tunes and customer service!!!

I could easily loose my buddy's 14 6.2 Silverado on long steep uphill grades when he was following me with a similar setup. I also do feel putting 93 octane in with the 87tune does increase the performance. The throttle response is very similar to the 91pt tune
What would be the benefit of using 91 or 93 octane with an 87 octane tune? I feel like if you are going to use the higher octane gas you might as well use the higher octane tune...
Would that just apply to someone who only has the 87 tune?
I fill up with 92 octane and I just loaded the 91 Octane Performance/Tow tune from 5 Star on my 2011 Ecoboost. I really didn't notice as much a difference from the stock tune as I was hoping. I also have the 87 Octane Performance/Tow tune and decided to give that a try. I almost feel like I noticed more power from the 87 tune. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Love to read that you ran away from that heavy Chevy! We've done quite a bit of testing to ensure the tunes run just as well during the cold weather. I appreciate you sharing your feedback from your trip as well as your climate. Using 91 or 93 octane in the 87 tune will net you additional performance as well as better economy.

I definitely feel a difference between my 87 p/t tune and my 91 p/t tune and of course an even bigger difference from the p/t to the performance tunes.
I've heard of guys saying their 89 p /t tunes felt stronger than their 91 p /t tunes before.
Maybe it's the fuel being used, if not super great will pull more timing running the same octane as the tune. I don't know though, just my guess.

For the guys with Ecoboost, what are you seeing for KR, as far as spikes?
Light throttle.
Light throttle.

I'm running the 91p/t right now in my 2013. I fill up with 93 octane. On part throttle cruise my truck sometimes pegs 7.99 and sometime goes full the other way with -4.99. Sometimes it stays low. (Around -2 to 2). Kinda all over the place. Not sure what causes the high spikes but I don't really worry about it. At WOT my knock is around 1.5 then degrades.
