So I got my SCT X4 tuner and 5* custom tunes and it is awesome.
I want firmer shifts and increased them by 15 percent which helped but is there any problems with going all the way to 25 percent?
Any tranny issues associated with this?

Also, firmer shifts (to a point) are better for your transmission than soft buttery smooth shifts. Ask any transmission shop or specialist.

I reloaded my 87 p/t. I ran the 91 p/t for about 500 miles, and I don't like it as well as the 87 p/t. My truck just seems to respond better on the 87 p/t on 91 octane than the 91 p/t on 91 octane. The 91 p/t might have just a little more on the top end, but the 87 p/t seems to pull harder from low rpm's through the mid range. This is what I'm going to run for awhile. I also think mpg is a little better on the 87 p/t. Still extremely happy with the tunes over stock. If anyone's still on the fence, buy the warranty and tune that thing. It's just so much more fun to drive than the stock tune.

I've also found the brand of fuel makes a huge difference. I have been running Esso for a while now as 91 is only 12c/litre more. I had noticed that my truck wasn't pulling as easy as it did before. Knock was normal. So I was forced to fill up at shell (17c/litre more) due to almost out of gas and the only station. I was impressed, my knock was always in the negatives and majority of the time it was pinned at -4.99. So I'm going to see how this tank goes pulling the TT back home and may be sticking with shell fuel. I imagine quite a bit of timing was being pulled with the other fuel.

Yup, mileage improved towing. And I tried the perf tune again. Knock was under control and truck felt much better, last time I fuel up at that station.

Fuel does matter. This past winter my mileage fell to about 17 on my 70 mile fuel friendly commute. I was running Gulf 87 octane. Got an ExxonMobile promo for 25 cents off/gal and started using Mobile 93. My mileage increase to about 18.5 and then 19.5 as the weather warmed and finally 20. Some recent tweaks from my tuner and I am up to 21.5. A few days ago I returned to stock for my upcoming 60K maintenance and wanted to see if I could generate some misfires while towing that I was starting to get on my 18K SP-534 plugs. Haven't done the tow yet, but mileage has dropped to 20 running stock. Also just got the Fuel Rewards Network (FRN) card so I can get .03 off on Shell.

You should have no problem finding a super cheap one on Craigslist or kijiji. Just back everything up on an external.
