Default True dual exhust

I had this done back in January or February...2.5" true dual, Magnaflow X pipe, 18" Dynomax Bullets with turn downs...I will most likely swap the bullets for a set of Flowmaster 50 series mufflers to quiet it down a bit, it's VERY loud...I will also add some chrome tips when the muffler swap occurs...

Adding 12" glasspacks near the tips will quiet it down a good amount.

Are you in a state that require emission testing? If so, will you pass? I've always wondered this.

State? Yes. County? No. At least not a sniffer test. Truck is non-CA (49 state) and all catalytic converters, o2 sensors, everything is present. The only thing changed was that the Y pipe coming off the cats was cut, to have individual access to each pipe, and of course, stock resonator and stock muffler is gone, but nothing has been touched on the emissions side of things. Catalytic converter warrantee is void due to the fact that the stock cat pipes where cut, so, if I had a factory cat go bad, I would not be able to warranty it...as far as a sniffer test, theoretically it would pass, I don't know about CA, it would probably fail the visual simply on that sticker that says 49 state/not for sale in CA, but as for the sniffer test? Who knows...in all the years I lived out there, and all the cars I owned, I never once had to have one smogged, ever...just always worked out that I would buy or sell or have new or trade in, so it just never came up.

NICELY DONE. The elimination of the Y-pipe into the X is exactly what I want and have planned to do to mine when I get around to it. I'll for sure be going for a quieter muffler and probably go for a same side raptor style exit... but the execution of yours is on point.

Did you notice any gains in performance or fuel economy?

May I ask what it ran you?

Nice work. Did you have that done in Marble Falls?

I'm in Austin but my folks live on Inks Lake so I go through Marble Falls fairly often.

I paid somewhere around 300-400 bucks all said & done, can't remember without digging out some receipts, but definitely far less than any of those "kits" you see for sale, probably better, too.

It's a very nice setup, I am happy with it. I had a very similar setup on my old 95 4.6L Thunderbird, except I had NO mufflers at all on that car.

I can tell I am getting older, as this exhaust is just too darn loud. I have a couple flowmaster 50 series mufflers sitting here, I just can't seem to find the time or the extra money lately to have them welded in.

Fuel economy and performance changes +/- are minimal...I did an AFE dry filter intake about a month after the exhaust...I have a scan guage II - the intake temp is roughly the same as before, no performance gain that I can feel, and as for extra noise? I can't tell, the exhaust drowns it out. Looks nice though.

Honestly, I think Ford got the intake and exhaust right on these from the factory - you just don't see huge gains from that like you would back in the 80s and 90s and 00s

I had the exhaust done at Lewis Automotive in Burnet, just up 281 from Marble Falls - talk to Stan, he does all the exhaust work, as you can see, he does excellent work. He did a 07 or so 5.4 SCAB for a mechanic at work, exhaust is absolutely identical to my exhaust, I saw his setup and immediately copied him in every way. I will make it my own with the other mufflers and tips out the back.
