Wahoooo Purolator is covering it!!! It's gonna take a couple weeks to get done, but Ford is now giving me a loaner car! Props to Jiffy Lube for helping me through this mess!
Will keep posted as it gets laid out!

Good to hear.

Did they say what exactly happened after inspecting the filter?

That's kind of unheard of. Glad they stepped up to the plate to cover it. Did they say about how long before you get your truck back? And what loaner car did you get? Hope it's not a fiesta. Lol.

I haven't heard anything about the filter as of yet. I am sure I will in the coming days. 3 weeks or so to get the truck back, they lent a 4 banger fusion. Not bad, better than my bagged 93 f150 farm truck lol..

Hi All that have followed up on my original post of concern.
Ford, at all levels, has been extremely helpful, professional and courteous.
Kristen and Crystal are the best!!!!...both on this forum, email and phone.
Wayne, thanks for the vote of confidence in Republic Ford, they were also very professional, kept me informed and did a great job replacing the motor in my F150.
The oil filter that came apart was a Motorcraft, made by Purolator. There is a orange rubber seal inside the filter that a piece lodged in the main oil port and starved the top end of the motor.
I've got about 1200 miles on the new motor and no issues. I drove the first 100 miles with nothing turned on, no air or radio, listening for any noises....lol It was 85 and I had all the windows rolled up just so I could listen before I got too far from Republic Ford on my way back home in the Chicago area.
BTW, I ended up with an Explorer as my loaner from Republic. It took a month for the complete process.
Mongo006, I'm assuming you are dealing with Ford now for the motor replacement. Make sure you ask for an extended warranty from your Ford representative.
I know some of the posters are worried about using Motorcraft/Purolator filters. Remember, as I think I put in an earlier post on this thread: I've got over 243,000 miles on all three of my F150's and have never had an issue with Motorcraft/Purolator oil filters. I know Ford stands behind its products and will make it right!!!
