5.0 UPR vs RX Catch Can Effectiveness Test
#232
Wayne,
I have been rigorously testing different media to maximize the Coalescing effect. Latest update reflects that the Coalescing effect of the SS media is mediocre at best. A company has been supply us with different samples of oil absorbent material that will eliminate the oil pull through because the new media has a much better coalescing effect.
I have been testing this on the smallest highest flow catch can application to exaggerate the effect and truly see how good the new media is working. I can say that it has been eye opening to see how much airspeed and media containment improved the efficiency.
I have a samples here if you would like to test it and see for yourself the overall improvement. I am driven to develop the best performance and results for all of us to be able to rely on. PM me so I can get you setup with the new media.

Tracy, can you share some of the results (if any) of the dealer testing that was being done? I'm not an EB owner but I'm curious as to the results - you'd mentioned that there were about 23 or so that we're "subjects"...

This is really all that can be released in public.
As far as the price they are quoting be aware that this is exchange rate to Canada, and is the Monster system (the only one they wanted to use in the cold climate) and this is installed at a well known dealer.

Shaggy1970 - While I applaud your quest to make your product better, it doesn't help those of us that have spent hundreds of dollars already on what we thought was a fix to this issue. Seems to me like you should not market your product until it is the 100% solution or offer free upgrades cause in this constant quest I would not expect my customers to keep paying for this interim fixes your coming up with!
And while discouraged that the upgrades were not compatible with the previous offering, I was satisfied with the fact that the *new* release with the diffuser, extension, etc. was made available to me at a considerably reduced co$t (thanks to Bryan).
As for any future upgrades, I would expect them to be compatible with the current can spec's and offered at an upgrade discount. ATTENTION UPR: Hint. Hint. Hint.
As for the -old- can ... It's made it's way to another of my vehicles.

I think that most people focus on the amount of oil that is captured in a catch can and not on whether or not any oil is still getting through to the intake. Most people have no reason to check the output line for oil so they don't think to do so.
When I first put on my UPR catch can last August and ran it for awhile, I was very impressed on how much oil it was catching. It wasn't until I had to replace the hoses that I was using because they were seeping oil, that I discovered that there seemed to be a lot of oil still making it's way to the intake. I was not happy about that since the main reason I bought one of these things was to prevent oil from getting to the intake.
I'm glad that UPR is still trying to improve their product since everyone benefits. I know that in my case, UPR has given me some great CS and has stepped up and made some things right.
