I have a 2011 FX4 Supercrew with a 5.0. I know there is a normal "lag" associated with this transmission, but it seems to be getting worse the more miles it accumulates. I have also noticed my fuel mileage has steadily worsened. I used to average around 15.5 in the city and now it is only getting around 14.5.

Has anyone else experienced this "lag" and fuel mileage decrease? Is there a re-flash for the transmission? I have thought about a 5 star computer program, but don't want the possibility of warranty void.

Change your air filter, these things get dirty fast. I had to change mine at only 10,500 miles and now I have the power instantaneously. Even with my 2008 Sport Trac's 4.6L 3 valve engine, I had to change the filter at every 2 or 3 oil changes.
