Ahh I wasn't thinking of that. Stage 2 Roushcharger is $6,000 and only gives you a 100 extra RWHP, to me that's a bit too expensive just for 100 horses.

??? The kit that advertises 570 crank horsepower only makes +100 rwhp over stock ??? Where did you hear this?

At 20% drive train loss 360 Is around 290 and 570 is around 460 so my math is around 160 ish ... That's not bad for 6 grand ... What else are u going to do to it or that kind of power increase.... Just out of curiosity...

A little bit if research reveils 5oh's throw down around 300-315 to the tire.

Roush blown trucks throw down 415 give or take. The torque #'s seem low on the roush tune @ around 370ish. Apparently the roush tune is crap for all out power #'s

Yes, it is apparent the Roush tune leaves a lot on the table. A good dyno tune should provide much improved power and drivability. The TVS 2.3 is more than enough blower to produce huge power gains on a 5.0. I am looking at the Roush kit as a great platform and oem quality fit/finish but not relying on the tune for best results.

Apparently, my brother just made 585 rwhp with the Roush on a 5.0 Mustang with a custom tune. That equates to just shy of 700 hp at the flywheel, proving the blower is capable of that power level. HOWEVER, the Mustang engine is NOT the same as the truck engine. The 45 hp reduction is real, maybe even conservative, due to difference in compression ratio, cams, heads, and exhaust. Also, the truck is only available with the auto trans, which will further reduce rwhp numbers to by 5-10%.

As I posted earlier there are already F150 5.0's @ 580rwhp with the Roush unit and a custom tune. Regardless of the top end differences (I don't disagree with your assertion), the bottom end is stout enough in stock form to support impressive numbers.

I read an article in MM&FF that had a stock GT just over 800hp with a Procharger but I can't find it now.

Just found this one. Here is a stock internals mustang making over 1000hp.

I am sure you are right. Just wondering about the claim that the stage 2 kit with 11 pounds of boost only makes 100 rwhp over stock??? (as was mentioned in this thread) Even running a 2lb lower on my Lightning and seeing 12lbs I am sure it was much more than 100 rwhp over a stock 5.4 and that was with a 1.9L Eaton........

That is an incorect claim on the stg 2 kit they offer. On the calibrated stg 2 kit they claim "Produces 570 horsepower and 530 lb-ft of torque (210hp and 150lb-ft gain over stock)" and that is FWHP not RWHP they claim. Also has a 80mm pulley so I think it will have more than 11psi. A member on here has a 85mm and has about 10.5 11psi with long tube headers that lessen the boost pressure some. Another member on here has the 80 and said he only sees 8-9 (doesn't make sense to me tho) I have the stock pulley that was on there calibrated kit (dont see it listed anymore on there site) and I think it has a 87 or 90mm pulley and I see about 9psi maybe even 10 if its cold out. The calibrated tune I had sucked...and thats my numbers in my sig. I have a tune from my installer and from JLP that are better than the roush tune. I dont know what there stg 2 tune is like...but the one I had from them sucked and it wasn't just the weak power.
