I'm gonna have to get a full tank and go across some scales to see what mine weighs. I'm guessing north of 5500. We shall see though.

I think options add more weight than people realize. 4wd is supposed to add ~260lbs but my truck weights less than some extended cabs do.

Mine is the xlt with some upgrades. I'll just have to break down and pay the scales. Lol. At least then I'll know for sure what my truck weighs.

how many of you guys with the light weight trucks have tow packages or things of that nature?
my reg cab had pretty much every option for an STX. power everything, brake controller tow pkg with hitch and bigger radiator and trans cooler, the only thing it didnt have was carpet and sync. not sure how much weight it adds, but I also had a spray in liner.
I do a lot of scrap and the scales at the scrap yard usually said around 51-5200 lbs with my fat *** (230lbs) in it. I do know its not accurate down to a single pound, it goes up in 20lb increments.

my scab 4x4 is also an STX with the tow package and all the same options the reg cab had. it DOES have carpet as well as sync. it has a plastic liner instead of spray in. it weighs 6000lbs at the scrap yard. out of curiosity, yesterday I went to the local landfill to see what it weighs there and it was 5960. 3/4 tank of gas and me in it. I still plan to take it to the cat scales in the near future to get a more accurate weight.

I have the tow package, sync, power everything XLT but no rear window, leather, no heated or cooled seats, no moonroof. It doesn't have the off-road package either (but it still sees it's fair share lol).

My truck has a tow package and basically every option for a Stx, 18" wheels, sync, carpet, power everything, but when I weighed my truck I was not in it, didn't have my spare tire under it and was almost empty

well that's a hell of a difference right there. spare tire is probably 60-75 lbs, 20 gallons of gas is 160 lbs, and my fat *** is another 230 lbs.

that is close to 500 lbs there.

now we need to figure out why mechanicboy's truck is soo damn light

when I have gone to the track Ive never been one to remove parts from my truck (tailgate, tonneau, spare tire, etc) just for sake of the better E.T. but I also only go a few times out of curiousity, basically just to get a general idea what kind of time the truck runs. I dont go every week. when I do go, I generally try to have as little gas as possible, but whatever ends up in the tank when I get to the track is what I run with. However most of the time when I have my truck weighed, it's at the scrap yard and I rarely have less than a 1/2 tank, usually is 3/4 tank or more.

17" wheels? I always clean out my cab before racing, usually vacuum the interior too, except a roll of toilet paper (worth every gram for the insurance of knowing it there just in case). I did add the cal-tracs recently and haven't weighed it since. I have a fiberglass hood but I honestly don't think it saved anything over the stock aluminum hood.
