I just got out of break in. While Ford states up to 1000 miles is break in , they state full break in is up to 3000 miles. I have just over 3000 miles break in.
My truck is a 2012 XLT SuperCrew 4WD 5.0L with 3.73 locker and 5.5' bed.
Recent expressway trips have been between 19 mpg and 19.5 mpg at speed around 75 mph or slightly above.
Previous, under 3000 mile, average trips have been between 16.5 to 17.0 mpg.
Seems pretty good and no worse, and often better, than many Ecoboost trucks.

Ford Blue Oval Guy
My 2012 F-150 Screw 5.0 with 3.31 gears is averaging 17.1 mpg on my fuelly account. That's 65% city and 35% highway with winter blend non ethanol fuel.

With winter blend gas, -15C weather, winter tires and 100% city driving I am getting mid 12mpg with my 4x4 with 3.55.
I am thinking about investing in the Oil Sands Project in Alberta. I think I am already the top investor with these numbers.

Truck: 2012 Scab 4x4 3.55 ELD. I'm averaging roughly 16.8 mpg. On a trip to Bartlesville when the truck was brand new the computer said 20.7 but this was not hand calc'd and I've never seen it that high again. I did just tune and am curious what this will do but I can't seem to keep my foot out of it right now so probably not so good.

I've got a 13' SCREW 6.5' box with Leer cab high shell, 5.0L with 3.73 gears, 3K on odometer Getting about 1-1.25MPG lower than computer average on winter blend fuel.
Winter Blend (California EPA crap)
City/Freeway mixed - 13-15MPG hand calc
- 14-16MPG computer calc
Freeway - 15-16 hand calc
- 16-17 computer calc
Summer Blend ----- ???
I consider myself a conscious MPG driver, easy start offs at lights, 70MPH cruise set on freeway and lots of coasting when coming up to stop lights (enough to **** off people behind me.) I challenge myself to try and get that average MPG up whenever I drive.
