i cant find the page I 1st saw it on but, there are 4 i think generations of the coyote 5.0 engine blocks. I had the 1st in mine as it was a nov 2011 build with oblong #6 cly. now i presume I have the newest generation of block as I got a short block in april of 2015 from lower end knock.

I've brought my 2011 back to the dealer more times than I can count for this issue. I am out of things to do at this point. Dealer keeps telling me that it's normal and its driving me nuts. Sometimes it is really loud and sometimes it is quiet. For me, the knock goes up when I give it gas and I've had it stay up until about 3,000 rpms before but then it comes back when I stop or the engine goes below about 1,500 rpms. I have 88,200 miles on my truck and I love it but if it doesn't get resolved soon I'll be trading for a duramax or the 6.7.
