5.0 knock need advice.
I'm at about 58,000 and have had intermittent knock at idle and sometimes rough idle. Tech hears knock and wants 4 hours at over $500 to explore. If there is an issue it's all warranty. If not I'm out $500+. I don't like idea of exploring, but don't want major issues down the road. Thoughts?

I think I would be going to another dealer for a second opinion. Exploration on my dime when my truck is still under warranty really doesn't sit well with my stomach. I hope that you have good success and cooperation somewhere else.

If the tech hears a problem, why are they 'exploring' on your dime? Tell them it's a warranty item and any exploration is on their dime. Utter BS for them to suggest that you should pay for them to investigate something that they agree is not right while you are under warranty.
