I went the muffler delete route with my 5.0. Straight piped off the stock resonator exiting behind the cab in front of the rear tire Gen II lightning style.

On startup this setup sounds great as well at 1/2- 3/4 throttle, however if you put your foot into it all the way, then sound becomes a bit unhinged.

Best part is it's $150-200.

I've installed a SOLO Performance Mach-X Dual Catback exhaust system on my 2013 F150 5.0... feel free to check it out.

SOLO, aside from having one of the best systems and component line ups out there, are client centric. They just don't bolt on a stock unit and leave you there. They will work with you after the install to make certain that the sound profile you want is attained.

The exterior sound power levels and sound shape and profile were wonderful. I was ecstatic, as you will see why here...

More on this later...

SVT Raptor factory cat-back installed on my FX2.. Has a good sound, and not too loud. And, it was free.
