5.0 Engine knock

Is that knock on the passenger side? If so it sounds really close to mind. Hard to tell from the video, but a bearing on the crank I have found sounds a little more rattley as to where yours sounds like the similar knock I have. Mine wasn't diagnosed, but the head of the shop proclaimed a connecting rod after listening to my video. I am hoping they diagnose the sound when it goes in so I can at least help you guys out and tell you what was wrong.
On a side note: I was so mad the day I took it in there I told my salesman if I still had problems with it that the next time I was bringing it in and they could leave it on their rack and write me a check for it because I was driving out of there in something else, and I didn't care if it was a F'ing Ford Fiesta. Told him I would not drive it back out the door. After laughing a little he said to just wait it out and see what happens.

5.0 has problems - engine knock at idle
I have had my vehicle in the shop for almost 3 wks for a very loud knock at idle when warm. They replaced the lifters, then the AC tension TSB - neither did the trick - they are now replacing the Head (finally got a loaner after 2 wks). More and more of these issues are coming out daily. Seems Ford has a real problem on their hands and doesn't have a fix so they throw parts, replace engines, tell people it is normal. Basically anything they think they can get away with. I have seen everything from the TSB to short block replacement. Lifters, long block followed by short block, obotund out of spec cylinders. My vehicle is a Mustang GT (2012).

I feel everyones pain. I bought my 2012 screw 5.0 new in March. Couple days ago at 13,500 miles it started making the "tick". Its had two oil changes, and I baby it. Took it to the dealer today, they fed me the standard bull that dealers are telling everyone else like "we let it run next to a new 2013 and its a little louder then the new one, just a characteristic of the engine". BULL$&@#! Its a telltale valvetrain noise, plain and simple. The 5.0 Mustang guys are all having this problem. Then they tell me if it gets louder, and unbearable bring it back. Yea, ok, its already loud and unbearable. So now my plans are to take it another dealer for a second look, then call Ford customer service. Its almost like Ford is coaching these dealers, put it off until warranty expires.

I feel your pain fellas! Like I said I went into the dealership determined to get something done and was gonna kick and scream my way to the store owner if I had to. Luckily they decided to finally step up and accept that there was an issue and handle it like it should have been from the start. I think a shortblock is a little extensive for what the problem may be, but then again it might be the best solution to help eliminate further problems. I am just worried about what tech they are going to have do it since they have previously left the dipstick hanging out of the tube after an oil change. That same trip the shop manager assured me he hired some of the best mechanics. Lets just say I wasn't very happy happy happy when I popped the hood and found that.
Should be sending my truck in next week for the block swap and I will keep you fellas posted.
Best of luck!

I too have a knock that I have posted about but thought I would add to this party. I've been in touch with Ford Customer Relationship Center regarding the issue and all they are willing to do is give me an extended warr., despite the fact that I have numerous service records and a video with the pronounced knock. For the record, I requested that the motor be replaced but since they have been unresponsive thus far I have requested a vehicle buy-back (lemon law eligible in CA due to 4 attempts to fix the issue with no remedy).
I for one do not find this knock to be normal... Take a listen.

It appears to be coming from the back of the motor which concerns me, I'm thinking crank bearings... Thoughts?
