The ecoboost already has one from factory. It's self draining.

Well that's handy dandy for EB owners. You could probably Fab up a way for the can to drain back into the crankcase but ill just stick with emptying it myself.

Really?!? Well I guess the Mazda test run actually accomplished something. Wonder if they had it on the torture test engine and maybe that's why it only had minimal coking. Ahh well, good news. Any idea where it is located?

I agree. I've driven a few vehicles that had vacuum gauges and the only time I saw really high vacuum was at idle when the throttle is closed. At WOT, the vacuum was nearly zero.

What might be going on here is that at high RPM, there's enough blow-by past the rings that excessive pressure builds up in the crankcase thus pushing oil vapor through the PCV valve.

Exactly I just worded it wrong.

Ok i got my adapters today....they are 3/8 barb fittings to 5/8 barb fittings. They work perfect. sorry i forgot to take a pic, but most ppl wont have the issue of needing the barb adapters if they get a catch can with 5/8 fittings on it....

any ways onto pics

Here is the stock hose, comes off.

I moved the location of the can. Because the there is a valve inside the can, and i could hear it reverberating through the firewall when i went over bumps. it was rattling...SOOOO annoying. I found a bolt on the front end of the block and then i bent my bracket a bit and made it work.

For now there is just electric tape covering the adapter fitting. I need to go get some big *** heat shrink wrap and then it will look a lot better. I also thought about trying to get a pcv valve with a 90 degree bend on it that will fit in that spot where the stock one is without a bend, then i could run the line on the left a little better instead of having to swoop it around so i dont kink the hose.

It will work for now!

Ill keep updating as i go, and also i am anxious to see how much oil this thing catches.

until later...

Ive since added a nice piece of heat shrink wrap over the connection where i had the 5/8 to 3/8 adapter. I tapped up up thoroughly with electrical tap first and then added the heat shrink wrap. Looks pretty nice.

took the can off. wasnt catching anything. i think because i had to get an adapter to go from 5/8 to 3/8 it was blocking a lot of flow...or whatever.

im gonna leave it off for now and prolly maybe buy a catch can made for the 5.0's like on the mustangs.

Not sure why you would even mess with this on a stock vehicle. If I have bad enough pcv issues I will send it in for warranty. Why fix something that isn't broken?
