Default 5.0 alternator replacement

maybe there is a post on this but i cant find it and i cant find it on google. So there is an auto tensioner for one belt but the belt that is on the alternator is different and i dont know how to use it so that i can remove the belt. i had ford replace the last alternator but it ran 1k so id rather do it myself this time. I have a 2013 5.0L and the alternator is screwing up due to water/mud so i want to take it off to take a good look at it and replace it if need be. has anyone done this or know how to go about removing it? the belt tensioner is stumping me. its not the usual, throw a ratchet on it and take the tension off like on the other belt.. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

hey i just ran into this problem with my 2013 5.0 F150. Did you ever find a way to keep the mud and water from damaging the alternator? i was hoping a skid plate would help, is it worth putting one on?
