I am super pleases with my 5.0 in my 2011. It has so much more power than my old 2001 5.4 I traded in. Anyone out there have anything good to say about there 5.0. Experiences dislikes etc.

Dazed and Confused
Have had my truck for 3 weeks now. Went out of town last weekend and averaged a little over 20MPG. Had a Tacoma prior to this truck and it got 19.8MPG with a
V-6. Love the power of the 5.0.

it is cold here... i am only avg. 14mpg last 3 tanks. have less than 1k miles on the motor. i hope it gets better. my 5.4 was avg. over 16.
on another note. i think the 5.4 was a bit better down low than the 5.0 but rev the 5.0 up and plenty there!

I've had mine for just a month now. Have 3,300 miles on it. Installed Magnaflow Dual Exhaust and getting a CAI in the next month or so. Then a tuner and possibly a Throttle Body later.
Took a trip from South Florida to Tennessee last week. Average Highway speed was 73mph. Got 19.6 mpg. VERY HAPPY with this truck. It's amazingly powerful and quick. Averaging around 17 around town but it's hard to resist punching it with the Magnaflow!
Towed 7,500 pounds like a dream - course, it got just under 10 mpg. Moved from an 07 V8 Sport Trac. Loved that truck too - but they are night and day different.
Can't drive this thing enough!

I LOVE my 5.0! Has plenty of power and will definitely have more once the warranty is out. Thinking Whipple or Kenne Bell Supercharger. I average around 17 with mixed city/highway driving when I can keep my foot off the pedal. It just sounds so freakin' good when you make it talk to you. Can't wait for my exhaust once I get over being sick!

Just picked up my 5.0 last night, after test driving it for the weekend. I would be lying if I said I wasn't incredibly impressed and pleased with the power and mpg..Going on my first long trip this weekend so ill let you know how I make out!
