2012 2WD XLT SCREW 5.0 with 3.55 e-lock and captain chairs with center console. Would recommend the center console option. Great feature for the money. 17.1 AVG mpg driving like a pawpaw in city. Highway trips of 50 miles or more 19mpg easy.

OK, I took 2 trips yesterday with my son who is about to graduate HS. We both just got 2 good used motocross bikes him a YZ250 and me a Suzuki RMZ450. We went west in heavy rain and traffic toward nashville driving slower got 21.9. Dropped off first bike at home and then went southeast almost to Atlanta got second bike and came back in heavy, heavy winds. Wind was pushing truck hard at us driving 70-75. we got about 18.9 but that is good for how hard the wind was and going North coming back.

This truck, with normal day to day commuting, gets about 25% better mileage than my beloved old 4.2 5-speed, and when working it hard (towing/hauling) which I do more than enough of, the fuel mileage barely decreases. With the 4.2, the towing and hauling mileage was horrible.
I've had it over a year, and I am still madly in love with it. Lowly but loaded XL or not.

Had a chance this weekend to test drive a 4wd 5.0 Screw (no 2wds). We drove it for about 1/2 hr. straight, mixed rural/suburban 2 lanes with a some lights and couple mile stretch of highway. Just over 18 mpg overall. Very limited test though. These new trucks have some HP! I started with a 84 F150 4wd with the 300 six, went to a 93 Ranger 2wd with the 4 cyl, and last truck I had was a 02 F150 2wd with the 4.6. 4.6 wasn't bad, but the 5.0 seemed to be a in a different class. It seemed like I was maybe 1/4 throttle into the 5.0 most of the time. Most of the time I think I was at about 1500 rpm during the open portions of the route. It had 3.55 gearing.

2013 FX2 Screw 3.55 ELD. 13.2 regularly in town. I am not gentle on it though. Better than the 11 I was getting in my 03 and very different driving. I am not disappointed at all.
