Walmart special my man. Saw 2 strips with 12 foot wire on clearance for $4.99 and bought 4 sets then wired up 2 sets. I want to put one of the white strips in my console but I'm too lazy to do it

80% Superslab at 75 mph, 20% city traffic,
average cargo load is 1,000 lbs, often more, counting a topper, bedslide and me.

I'm at 3800 miles now and just drained the blended oil and replaced it with
Mobil 1 full syn, that netted me a .6 mpg increase.

Computer average is holding around 20.9 mpgs
I'm still on the factory noisy AT tires...

I'm very happy, love my 3.7

FYI my now gone Toyota 2.7 liter auto got me an average of 21.5 under the same
conditions.. It became unreliable at 528K miles...
Not bad being a gutless 4 banger that wouldn't get out of its own way... I always had my foot innit....

So as far as I'm concerned I can forget about mpg's and enjoy this far more
powerful, comfortable and safer truck..

Thanks Ford XD

Funny thing.... I had a 2009 Tacoma 4X4 ext cab 2.7. My F150 averages roughly the same fuel mileage, with a 70/30 highway city mix. I liked the Yota, but the difference in comfort, ability, and refinement is so huge. Hard to believe the F150 cost about the same too.

I have the 3.7L Screw XLT 2WD and at best on the highway I get 15-17 mpg, even with keeping it below 70 and not using the cruise control on hills. Is that low? I see folks reporting much better mileage. My truck came with a grille guard, exhaust, and a leveling kit and I put Michelin LTX MS/2 tires on (it came with 295 70R18 Nitto Trail Grapplers which gave me 12.5 mpg). Any ideas for better mileage?

Synthetic fluids, Lightest ply tires/ smallest size possible, Leveling kit removed, 5* tune, new plugs, air filter, clean MAFS, etc

Those things and at anywhere near 70 you're going to be under 20mpg. If you want the high numbers to show off you have to go slow.

You Americans are spoiled with your highway system and speed limits. 60mph is average highway speed limit around here, 65 in some other provinces. do 70mph and you will be getting tickets, never mind 80mph.
Consider the average 3.7 is rocking 3.73 gears for more low end power and acceleration, it is not a surprise to see big fuel econ penalties past 70mph.

so true... but at the same time, my mileage (EB) already blows at 70mph, dont wanna see what it does at 85+ mph...
there is 1 highway in the country with a 120 km/h (75mph) speed limit... they had a news girl drive it the other day and she was all giggly, big grin on her face when she got to 110, 115, 120... "omg I'm doing 120 km/h"... that was funny...

You wouldn't last 5 min in Florida. If your doing 80 on the interstate your getting tailgated lol.

When I first got my truck I was getting 19 city and 21 on highway. Slowely decresed over the years. Now I consistently get 17 city and 20 highway. I would assume the motor gets worn out like anything else and efficiency is lost. Its time for new spark plugs so maybe better fireing will help. I have friends who have the 5.0 and they get 14 to 16 in city and about 19 on highway. 3.7L is not a gas saver compared to the 5.0 but for some reason they tend to have more gas station runs than I do.
