It is a shame that we have to learn what to tell the service department here because they don't know how to fix them. I had to tell mine how to remove the coil spring shelf from my front shocks to transfer to the Bilsteins and just told them to replace the spark plugs instead of telling them I could barely pull my trailer uphill. I had no faith in them figuring it out. When I told them the spark plug gaps were wrong in most 11-12 EBs, I got a blank stare.

The worst is when they think you don't know what you are talking about and say " the computer isn't throwing any codes so there can't be anything wrong" my 11 never got the updates it was suppose to get so they are ordering them. I'm hoping one of the updates is new plugs. If not I'll have to see if I can convince them to change them or just let me buy new ones and they put them in.

I have a 12 FX4 eco with 49,500 on the ticker. within the last 10k or so it has started to miss like crazy. rough idle is also present. I'm going to change out he plugs and see if it helps.. I will post pics of the plugs so people can get a look at 50k on the stockers, mostly highway driving miles.

Also if you can measure the stock ones and see what they are at. Make sure you do like the last guys and get 0.30-0.32 ... That seems to be what's working best for everyone I've talked to. I'm just waiting on my ford service guys to get my updates in and see it new plugs is one of them.

You can do the plugs yourself. It was easier to do the plugs on my truck than it is on my 78 Z28. Its cake.

Yea I know I could, it's just principle though, my truck is under warranty and they should fix it instead of being lazy.

It was easier for me to do it than taking to the dealer and spent less time. I would say max gap would be .032. If you're tuned, take them down to .028 at least.

ATTENTION: I don't care what problems you are having with your EB. It's God's gift to man. Better than guns, beer, women, etc. Be glad you've had the opportunity to own one. You can die happy.

Internet Superman away.

My eco has had a rough idle all of its life but became really bad on morning start up after the ic and reflash. Had it in the shop for 8 day looking over it. They changed the throttle body and said it still has a slight rough idle but that is all ford would let them do. I will see in the morning if it is better.
