"I don't see how a 2.7LTT is going to be able to efficiently(mpg) move a 5500 lb truck."
The aluminum body will shed 700 lbs. The 2.7EB looks to have 320hp/370tq. Will pull pretty darn good, especialy if the trans is an 8 spd, and could approach 30 mpg highway.

Start/stop technology hasn't been in cars that many years. Just from a wear standpoint, the idea of being in a traffic jam each morning where I start and stop 20? 50? times. Taking an engine from 0 rpm to 2000 rpm during a start event over and over and over just on the morning commute? What happens after 100k miles, 200k miles, ...
This is one "feature" I would find a way to flash out of the truck. I'm really not a luddite (afraid of new tech) I just don't like being a mine canary.

5.0 to get better gas mileage. I am thinking power bumps for the 5.0 and 3.5 are in weight reduction (700 is a lot). 2.7 sounds wicked especially with the block material. I think this engine places a target on the 5.0's back. Just a matter of time.

It deactivates in trailer tow and 4x4. Its can also be manually be turned off. I hope they put it on every vehicle.

See? It works in monkeys!
I have a hard time confessing it, but I have better luck (and fuel economy) with my 5.0 than the 3.5, but the eco is more fun.
I'll take the 2.7 in a new Escape, or maybe the China-only MKC....
