2014 Fx4- 5.0 making a ticking noise??
Had my truck for about 3 months and put about 4,000 miles on it... Took it on vacation which was about a 4 hour ride each way and when I got back I notice a ticking type of sound.. The noise can't be heard under the hood but only if you stand next to the truck right by the front tire.. So I took it to the dealer and they looked it over and said the sound is normal and sent me on my way.. Oil was changed at 3,000 miles and is full.. Anyone else notice this sound or am I just crazy...

Not normal. Took my '13 in for the tick. The dealer pulled my oil pan and the machining of the engine block was sloppy and uneven. Tons of shavings in the oil. Long story short, new engine was installed.

Really??? I made an appointment at a different dealer to check it out... If it made the noise from day one then I'd say it's fine, but since it just started I'm a little uneasy about it... Plus the dealership I took it to is the largest volume dealer in my area and their service department took 2 days to look at it and I think they just rushed it through.. I have to wait 2 week to get it in the other dealer so time will tell...

Got it and was contacted by the regional manager already!!! Never thought that by asking a question that I would get this much of a response!! Truly Impressed by Ford Customer Service!!!
