Wink

I would agree that they are similar in as far as ride, comfort, etc.. But, the 6.2 has 50 HP , and another 54 ft.lb. or more of torque, at similar peaks, over the 5.0. And I gotta tell, my 6.2 is wild at any RPM. That's something you can feel.

You cant go wrong with either. I personally like my 6.2 and have had zero issues with it at 30K. The biggest difference is the lower torque over the 5.0 that made the difference for me.

Love my 6.2 and at 11.3-12.5L/100km going 120km/h on the highway I can't complain.

Got the 5.0 with no regrets. 6.2 was just not worth the extra money on top of the horribly worst gas milage. I was deciding on the raptor or the fx4, other than the short bed, and having to replace the fox shocks for a couple grand as maintenance, the mpg of the 6.2 is just not worth it being a daily driver.

I own a 6.2 and tow my tandem quite a bit with it. The rest of the time it's empty. I'm really happy with the power plant. I'm in CO skiing this week and rented a 5.0L FX4. It drives great so I have no complaints. I prefer the lighter motor I think for just 4-wheeling around but for how I use my personal truck, I didn't make a mistake.

Get the 6.2 if your thinking of it. Get what you want no regrets.

5.0 is a mustang engine. 6.2 designed as a truck engine. If you want a truck engine. ...

~$3.5k upcharge huh? Geeze, if I had the coins I just go ahead and get a blower bolted in the valley of a 5.0 and call it a day...
