Thank you Surfer!
NONE of the flagship motors are DOHC in the SUV/Truck category.
HEMI
LS series or even the new LT series motors
the 6.2 BOSS
This is a great article BTW -

My local mechanic, by the way, whom I trust based on intuition and works he's done for me, highly taut the 4.8L V8 and the 6.2L V8 with cast iron parts. He also likes the older 5.0L V8. His reasoning is pretty straightforward: over his decades of work, only those engines last the longest and need least repair. He often uses the Crown Victoria and F250 as illustrations. Of course, since he didn't really base his preference on theoretical arguments, the much younger Coyote 5.0L would not be in the same league, just because it's not old enough. I have to tell you, everytime when he says he loves the 6.2L, I feel like trading my 5.0L for a older 6.2L used truck!! Damn it.

I now have just a tad over 60k on my 14 F-150 with the 5.0. Although my 13 EB will walk away from it in a race, I still prefer my 5.0 overall. It also gets better highway mileage than the 13 and both have 3.73 gears. When I replace my 14, I'll most likely get the V8 again (assuming a V8 is still available because I don't plan to replace it soon)
