2014 fx4: 5.0 or 6.2???
Have driven plenty of the newer 5.0 trucks. Mo problem with them. Planning to place an order for a new truck in the next week or two....possibly looking to go with the 6.2...
Any thoughts??? What and why did you go with it over the 5.0 and vice versa...

The $3490 upcharge over the 5.0 keeps a lot of people from going with the 6.2L.

I have a '13 fx4 screw ecoboost and if I were to do it again I might have went with a 6.2. The ecoboost is powerful and all but I just can't get use to the exhaust note. If I had to decide between the 6.2 and 5.0 it would be 6.2 all the way.... Just don't look at the gas gauge.

Not likely to be many responses. The 6.2 is a very low volume motor. When i was looking to buy I never saw one on a lot. Most are trying to decide between the 5.0 and eco. And that ground is well covered.
My 2¢ if gas mileage and additional engine cost isn't much of a concern get the 6.2. It is in another class from the 5.0.

If you decide on the 6.2 order a raptor not and fx4. Haha. Depends if your drive a lot and if your wallet can handle the gas bill. Also if you need the max tow option the 6.2 has and the 5.0 doesn't.

Well, when I ordered my '11 Lariat in 2010, it had to have the 6.2. It's a beast. And No other motor can match it, in my opinion. And the sound is so heart warming. Plus, I get excellent gas mileage. At least as good as the 5.0. Yea, I know the nay sayers will balk at that. Just go to my albums to see pics of the message center read outs. And I have more. I travel out to West Virginia on a regular basis. A 265 mile trip with varying elevations, and I average 19.5 mpg at 65mph.. Towing my Polaris Ranger in an enclosed trailer (with gear is about 3,400-3,500 lbs.) the last time I was getting 11.2 average. In '11 my overall yearly combined average was 16.3 MPG. Now my around town isn't nearly as good of course. It depends what tune I'm on. Now, I do have a complete Stainless Works exhaust system with headers, a Volant intake tube with a modified airbox, a tonnaue cover, skid plates, and a SCT Livewire with custom tunes. The SCT only marginally improved my mpg when on the canned tune, maybe 1 mpg. But on my 91 performance tune it hurt the gasd mileage a bit. I wonder why?.............

My dad has the 6.2, I have the 5.0. I almost bought the 6.2 FX4 my dealer had, but couldn't justify the $2k upcharge. Both are fantastic, but neither is exponentially better than the other. In fact, they are really similar. The 6.2 feels more powerful and torquey, but the 5.0 feels lighter and more willing to rev.
