Default 2014 f150 alternator problems

I have a 2014 f150 xlt 4x4 the problem I have with the alternator is that every time I go play it gets packed full of mud and has killed my alternator does anyone else have this problem since ford put the alternator at the bottom of the motor. Or does anyone know where I can get a relocation kit or some way to stop the alternator from getting ruined every time I go fourwheelling

Is there anyway to put a guard around it? Or are you getting it saturated when you go through mud holes?

It gets completely covered when playing in the mud or going through puddles it is at the bottom left corner of the motor when your looking at the front of it and it's right by the gap by the wheel

What motor? Do you have a lift? Skid plates?

Click on the UserCP button and fill out your signature with your info. Saves time and makes this easier.

Seems the obvious fix would be to get a lift so you can go into the mud. Or just don't go in deep holes.

Default Same problem

I have had the same issue. I have not been able to find a relocation bracket and I have searched for days. I talked to the service department @ ford about this and the response I got was it wasn't designed for mud. WHAT 4X4 off road right on the side and you telling me this BS. I have a friend that is going to help me out with a cnc machine to customize some skid plates to hopefully prevent this.

Offroad does not mean deep mud holes.

Default Who said they were deep mud holes

Mud holes I'm speaking of might have been half way up on the rims. What I did was the splash the mud up to the alternator. Which in my pov if it says 4X4 then it should be able to handle a little bit of mud and water.
