The same thing happened to my mom's 2013 ecoboost with around 40,000 miles. It started ticking like crazy and we took it to a Ford dealer and they said piston #1 was cracked and they got a new long block for it. The dealer said they have never seen anything like it but it sounds like this isn't the first time it's happened.
Kinda crazy, same exact thing happened to me with my 2013 at just under 49k miles
