2014 5.0 rcsb noise after y-pipe install on stock exhaust
this past week I installed a offroad 3 inch y-pipe on my 5.0 rcsb bolted up to my stock exhaust....fit and product is very good no complaints about quality of y-pipe but I have a loud rattling/ tinny noise on accel and free reving nothing loose or hitting,i've had it on a rack several times, noise comes from from resonator/ muffler (and no nothing is in either floating around) I was trying to be stealthy and wait for an aftermarket exhaust ...has anyone experienced this? I have put offroad pipes on several vehichles but this is the first time I've had this happen...

actually starts at about 1800 and gets worse on medium acceleration...I guess its like pulses of exhaust flow hitting inside of resonator or muffler that d normally be smoothed or evened out by the cats

I have the same pipe installed on mine, but I have it paired with a rousch exhaust, I battled the "raspy" sound for a while and tried two different exhaust clamps to fix leaks that I was having. I also added an extra resonator to the exhaust as well and wrapped the y pipe and this helped a little but I can still hear the tiny exhaust leak around the y pipe, which causes the "tinny" noise for me but not sure if its because of the amount of air im pushing through the system with the supercharger but ill probably end up having the pipes welded together when I get the time to completely alleviate the problem. The truck is just loud in general with no cats so I have gotten used to it but the power the y pipe gave me overshadowed this small issue for me.

i don't have any exhaust leaks/anything touching anything (believe me I checked several times).. it just sounds like jingling/rattling in resonator/muffler on accel... I want to get the quiest highest flowing cat back exhaust but I'd sure hate for this sound to still be there....thinking about a straight pipe to eliminate resonator to see if it helps...as a temporary fix

What your describing was how my truck sounded when I only had the cats and didn't have any other exhaust.
I now have a header back exhaust and it's pretty quiet until 2500rpm where it's raspy at light throttle but sounds F***ing AWESOME at WOT!!!! I have a 22" magnaflow muffler with dual 3" in and 3.5" out.
