2013 Ecoboost oil consumption???
Are there any TSB's regarding oil consumption on the 2013 EB? My brother in law bought his truck a few months ago. It wouldn't start today and the dash reported "low oil pressure" and shut off. I went over to have a look and found the oil level was below the low point on the dipstick. He called the dealer and they said it's normal and to bring it in for an oil change. I have an '11 EB and after 9-10k miles the oil level is just fine.

he needs to monitor it carefully after the dealer changes it. the 5.0 has been known to use oil a bit more than normal but this is the first ive heard on the ecoboost.

I am an engine builder by trade. I know it's not normal but you can't get that through the skulls of the clowns at the dealership. They told him it's normal for the level to be a couple quarts low after 8000 miles. Thank you for the input, I was really hoping for a TSB to exist which would have saved us some headaches.

oil was changed code was cleared by dealership and it came back on a day later. i wonder if there are any dealerships left that have techs that actually know anything about what they are supposed to work on.

Some engines eat oil but not the ecoboost. The 5.0 eats a bit. Some imports do as well. I have 34 k miles and go 8 k miles between changes. Doesn't use a drop,of oil....

I see a couple things here.
One, he has driven a few months and hasn't checked his oil level. Not a good idea.
And two, unless the oil level was almost nothing, the no oil pressure message appears when the truck doesn't start or it stalls. It usually can be restarted with no issues.
