I just noticed today that right above the black pastic bumper cover center of the front of the truck there is a huge opening were you can see what is I think the transmission cooler. Traveling on the roads where I live a rock or salt on the roads could easily fly up and damage this. Is there a piece you can buy to close it in? I know this prevents airflow however might be useful in the winter.

There are sever threads on here about this already. That is the turbo intercooler and not the transmission intercooler. Several members here have put protective screens in this area with no issue. Ford does not Recommend putting one there for some odd reason. if your not friendly with your dealer, that will void your warranty if something happens to your engine.

Lol..."void" warranty, for a billet grill. Get real. You can believe that lie if you want.

The chances that something hits the intercooler and damages it are small. Put a grill there if you like...it looks damn good with a nice billet piece there.

The chances of damage are very good where I live. A nice big chunk of ice or rock of a log truck would do some nice damage to that
