Default 10K mile check up EB

Most of the 10K check is the oil change..

First things first...Glad I only have to do this every 10K miles(well it will be 15K after I confirm with Oil analysis).

The oil change on an EB is not for the faint hearted. Holy Cow, one of the craziest oil changes I have ever done.

First thing, I went to the dealership to give them a try..Well they wanted to put in 5W-20, so strike one..then $35 strike two, high school kids in the fastlane, strike three..Left..No way..

Looked it over and decided to try the topside extraction, got it all out except 4 oz..CC level was half way up the stick. Removed 4.75 liters.

Then comes the filter, I was going to do this from the top and could, but decided to go conventional from the bottom, belly pan was fun, although I liked the quick release 90 degree pushpins..Like you guys said the catch pan was useless! I will be modding this with a hose attached to drain the oil from the filter change around the bellypan and into a remote container.
May even sell a kit to do this. This was the dumbest place to put the drain on the filter catch pan...right on the electric steering computer..Someone was not paying attention here..

Where Ford went right was, I used exactly 6 quarts of S9000 to make the fill. They used a metal dipstick, so you can read the oil level easily!!

Other Modifications included, there is a good size mounting tab hanging off the cooling fan shroud..mine got cutoff which allowed more room to access the filter from the top + cleaned up the looks of the compartment.

I got more ideas for modifications including but not limited to..I see a very good spot to Fab/Install a Ram air CAI system...Which I am working on. May even do a kit for this..

I will be setting these up on my customer trucks for topside Extraction, where I wont have to get underneath the truck after the first oil change. no reason to. I will be anxious to see how far the S9000 will go with oil analysis.

I still havent got it on the lift yet to really look it over, I do have a good idea for an awesome exhaust system that will be very unique and blow the pants off any of the other exhausts that are available...

I hope to pick up some more fuel economy with the S9000 in there, hopefully I will be able to break my 23mpg, 573 to the tank.

Where I bought my new EB (Ford dealer) their policy is free oil changes for as long as you own your vehicle... no limit, except if you want synthetic, you pay the difference.

A good way to keep customers coming back.

you might ask if they are using the correct oil 5W-30 and at least semi-synthic..

I used S9000, dont have any regrets and after I do some Oil analysis, should be good for 15000 miles if the little FL500 filter can stay up..I know the oil will be able to make it...

These oil changes are not for the faint hearted, but after seeing the high school kids in there doing it..No problem..Hope this helps..

Go read bobistheoilguy forums. Lots of good info.

I personally wouldnt push the ecoboost past 7500 on semi synthetic oil. Plus with the fuel dilution issues on DI engines, why would you want to go longer?
