Default 2013 eco boost oil pressure

I have. 2013 supercrew fx4

I have 1600 km on it and ever since I got it the oil pressure gauge reads over half all the time. Is this normal? I thought half way on the gauge would be normal.

Just bought myself a new EcoBoost and it reads the same. My 09 with the 5.4 read the same also so it must be normal.

It's a dummy gauge. It serves no purpose other than to say it has pressure.

It's not a real oil pressure gauge as far as showing actual oil pressure. It's a glorified idiot light that just shows if your oil pressure is in normal range.

So your saying if it were 3/4 you would not worry. I'm sure it's proportional to some point.

Its connected to a switch...on or off. Either none or gauge is "on". Keeps people from asking questions lol.

Like said above, it reads a pressure range. If it was a real mechanical gauge it would move with up in relation to the RPMs. Yours is working as intended.

To keep people like you intrigued. It serves no function other than to say you have pressure. That's it.
