Default Torque Curve

So while the 5.0 will walk away and leave the 5.4 in a drag race, in daily driving below 3k rpm, the 5.4 feels stouter. The six speed trans makes both of them feel doggy to me. They shift before the engines really making power unless you're really on the gas pedal (or tuned I guess, which I don't do). I'd like to see hp/torque graphs for both. I'd imagine the 5.4 has more power at lower rpm, and a whole heap less beyond 3k rpm or so.
One of the really cool things about the 5.4 was it's diesel like torque curve. And it does make more torque lower in the RPM band than the 5.0, however it does not rev nearly as quickly as the 5.0.

2000 rpm = 302#

Your numbers for the 5.4 are wrong, and not by a bit either!
Hint - it does not make anywhere near 350 at 5000!

I think it does for torque. Not HP.

I did wonder if those numbers are right for the 5.4. I assume if they are right they are for the 3 valve motor (op mentioned 2001, 2 valve). Regardless, the 5.0 didn't seem like a torque monster to me. If the torque curve could be shifted 1k rpm lower, it would be perfect (to me). I really don't get over 3k rpm much in normal driving. I'd love to see the 2015 5.0's hp/tq curves.

Those are the Torque numbers from Ford for the 3v 5.4L V8. I forgot that it was still a 2v in 2001. In 2001 the 2v motor made 260HP at 4500 RPM and 350 TQ at 2500 RPM. Still significantly more TQ than the current 5.0 at 2500 RPM.

They are not even close for a 2001.
They are still too high for a 3 valve. It's unfortunate some folks are disingenuous when trying to make a point.

Disingenous... were you seriously accusing me of being candid and behaving as if other people don't know what they are talking about? I've been driving these trucks for 15 years, I think I know what I am talking about. And I am here to assist the OP not you. You have yet to provide a factual response, just a bunch of speculations and "no way" blah blah blah. Here are some more links for you. FYI you have to read, left to right, top to bottom.

My suggestion is to watch your internet mouth lest you want to continue looking stupid. As my dad used to say, "It is better to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".
