Thanks Brittany! It's a 2013 STX Model built in 10/12. Current mileage is 35,400 mi. Motor was built at the Essex Engine Plant. Code on the sticker is BA 340 AD P415A or E1521 0910120991. Is there a way to tell what the build date is for the motor?

The knock started happening about 2500-3000 miles after getting my third oil change. I'm going to hold off bringing out the "big guns" (regional manager) with this issue until I get closer to the expiration of my powertrain warranty. The worst that could happen is a dropped cylinder and then they would see the problem when trying to fix it. Also, with the next oil change, I'm going to have them filter the used oil for metal shavings and tear apart the oil filter. I'll watch them do it as well just to make sure.

You're welcome, yamaharacer19! Thanks for providing the details. I'm unable to access the build date for the motor specifically, but you might want to check with the service manager at your local dealership; they have access to some additional resources.

Regarding the "big guns", I completely understand. Please let me know if you'd like any assistance from the CSM or if you have any other questions; I'm here when you need me!

Good luck bro, I had the same Problem with my 2013 CCFx4 and Ford advised the engine be torn down they found nothing, installed new main bearings and poorly slapped it back together. Fired it up after the rebuild and it started knocking right away. I left it at the dealership Autonation Ford here in Colorado off Broadway. I had to wait another 2 weeks for an engineer to come out and he finally gave me a new crate motor. As the dealer did another **** poor job installing it braking my radiator mount head light mounts oil cooler mounts scratched my HID headlights and decided to hold it all together with ZIP ties. They gave it back to me hoping I wouldn't notice. It wasn't a good situation... They never made it right and the damn truck reeked of antifreeze. After this I'll never buy a new Ford again. And to top it all off Ford customer service gave me a run around they passed me around like a bad cold. And when I tried to get the Lemon law they told me I was SOL. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Lost 6000$ because I traded the POS in. Hope your situation is better than mine.

Mine also started knocking at 2000 miles.

Just make sure you don't wait until during the last month of your warranty, because by the time you get it looked at and they or you get back in touch with them from playing telephone tag your warranty could run out while you have a case started and then you may be left hanging.

What's the current mileage on your truck, rvtrc211v? Please let me know; I'll look into all available options.

I know. I will be more forceful when my warranty is almost up (within 3 months or 10,000 miles remaining). I still have ways for them to check if the motor's bad like checking the oil and oil filter for metal shavings. Getting my truck to ford when it's making the knock/piston slap noise.

I hope I can get this done. I've found mine is coming from right about where the transmission meets up to the motor. Never mind since it did not fix the issue may not be a fix for mine either. Already cut ties with the only dealer in 50 miles cause they wont even do a compression check under warranty.

Post youtube videos of the knocking.

Use creative tag lines so people can find them easily when searching. Be sure to include the dealers name who is not helping you.

Looks bad on them and Ford when people do this and they deserve it.

It's really unfortunate, I have been lurking here for months dreaming about get a F150 but I think Tundra is the way to go. My buddy has a 2010 screw 5.4, bought it at 25k miles and it's now around 60k and it's been pretty much flawless but I fear I won't be as lucky. I'm not spending my hard earned money on a truck may require a motor before 50k miles.
