2013 5.0 engine tic
#11
My 2011 4x4 also had a ticking sound, after 36,000 miles the dealership finally pinpointed it to a bad #4 cylinder, it was out of round, they replaced my short block. It hasn't made a ticking sounds since.

i have a 2013 F150 5.0 also. I also have that ticking sound, I pinpointed the sound near my passenger side exhaust manifold also. Did you ever find out what was causing the sound yet?

small update: What I have found is the oil were using could be a factor. I recently changed to a full Synthetic oil 5w-20, WIX filter. Some people claim that the oil could make the tic more noticeable or louder.
Going ahead with this theory I drained 1 qt of motor oil and added Lucas Full Synthetic oil stabilizer. I have not noticed any change with the noise (louder or quieter) as well as any performance improvements. Miles drove on new oil blend ~150.
I ordered 10qts of Motorcraft 5w20 from Amazon ($18 per 5 qt) and am awaiting delivery. I will use the same, but new WIX filter, keeping focus on the oil.
I have also herd it could be the oil filter and something to due with the pressure related with it.
I am trying to take videos of all the changes as I make them, and posting them to my YouTube channel.
